Whole Life Insurance

Permanent life insurance that lasts for the policyholder's entire life and builds cash value over time.

Whole life premiums are significantly higher than term life for the same death benefit, but a portion of the premium builds cash value that grows tax-deferred and can typically be borrowed against. It's a more complex financial product than term life and is often recommended only after other financial priorities, like retirement savings and emergency funds, are addressed.
