Full Retirement Age (Social Security)

The age at which you're entitled to 100% of your calculated Social Security retirement benefit.

Full retirement age depends on birth year and is set by the Social Security Administration, generally between 66 and 67 for people born in 1943 or later. Claiming benefits before full retirement age permanently reduces the monthly amount, while delaying past full retirement age (up to age 70) increases it.
