Simple Interest

Interest calculated only on the original principal, not on accumulated interest.

Simple interest grows at a fixed, linear rate over time since it doesn't compound. Some personal loans and short-term financing products use simple interest, which makes them easier to calculate manually but results in slower growth (for savings) or slower cost accumulation (for debt) compared to compound interest.
